FAQ

  • How long have you been capturing weddings?

I began shooting weddings in 2013. From elopements to large weddings, across seas and cultures. The last eight years have flown by - some of the best years of my life indeed!

  • What is your photographic style?

Tailored, polished, and refined. My style is inspired by my subjects, the light, and the location. I draw inspiration from cinema, so my portfolio has a cinematic quality. I am passionate about my interpretation of the moment. I love the editing process, shooting in RAW, and then bringing to life my vision of the story. No two galleries will feel the same, as your gallery has been uniquely tailored to tell your story.

Mostly, I want to make people feel something.

  • What about your shooting style?

I am a calm, thoughtful, and detail-orientated photographer. I am confident to give direction when needed but happy to let emotions unfold. I like to plan and storyboard but then leave my expectations behind, using instinct instead. I shoot in motion, preferring to capture moving stills, which means I get to freeze some of the most unique emotions in time! I am a dynamic shooter who loves to play in any type of light to capture stories (for life happens not only in the golden glow but in darkness too). I use Nikon Full Frame Cameras and a range of lenses.

  • What about your editing style?

I do resonate with warmth, mood, and layering, however, my first aim is to stay authentic to the full array of tones that showcased themselves in the session. Sometimes the sky is blue, sometimes it’s gold, sometimes it’s overcast - other times I am having to shoot with a flash. Finally, my editing is chosen based on the actual subject - is it a summer wedding on the beach or a country wedding at dusk? Is it an editorial with a specific brand brief or a newborn session in a dimly lit corner of the nursery?

  • How much are your sessions?

    Wedding Photography starts at $5000

    Family Sessions start at $600

Editorial & Commercial Projects start at $900

  • Where are you based and will you travel?

I am based in Port Stephens, NSW Australia. I absolutely do travel across Australia & New Zealand. Please get in touch if you connect with our work.

  • How far in advance should I book?

For weddings, we are only taking on a select number each year to ensure our passion and dedication remain at the forefront. We recommend getting in contact as soon as you start the planning process, even before setting a date.

For Family and Maternity Sessions, we recommend booking about 3 months in advance,

For Editorial Sessions, we recommend booking at least two months in advance.

  • What is a water session?

  • Do you offer Newborn photography?

Yes I do! Please visit our Families portfolio to see some of my clients. Sessions starting at $600

  • How are my images delivered and how many can I expect?

Via an online gallery with access to high-resolution files, in an easy-to-share format. We also provide an old-fashioned USB for our wedding packages. You’ll receive a teaser within a week and the rest within aprox 90 days.

Image count is a tricky thing! Just trust that I will provide you with every beautiful moment without withholding any!

  • Will you provide RAW unedited files?

No. I go through a process of shortlisting, editing each image, and handing over a quality emotive gallery. I encourage you to trust my creative process.

  • Do you edit blemishes, skin, body shapes?

We don’t alter body shapes but we will edit out blemishes, sunburn, milk pimples, or anything that isn’t permanent. For any special edits beyond this, please just ask and we can provide a quote.

  • Do you offer prints and albums?

This is my favourite part! Seeing your gallery in print. All our wedding packages come with an art album so you can enjoy your memories in print. We also offer custom framing and canvas printing - just ask!

  • Can you work with any skin tone?

Absolutely yes! We have worked with all different skin tones and are very sensitive to maintaining those beautiful hues whatever they may be!

  • What is a Post Wedding Session?

Our Heirloom Wedding Package includes a post-wedding session. A chance to meet the morning after, a week later, or even for your one-year anniversary to create some intimate portraits away from the hype of the wedding day. Take the pressure off having to have the perfect weather or light and adventure after the wedding day. Some of my clients have escaped to the mountains or the sea - in a completely unique location to their wedding.

  • How do I book and will I need to pay a deposit?

Just get in contact with us via email and we will send you all the necessary paperwork to book. Weddings require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure. We will email our contract, banking details, and anything else you may require.

  • Can I come to you with ideas?

Yes, please! I get excited to collaborate on any session ideas. Whilst I encourage sharing inspiration and concepts, keep them minimal and focus on your story! What makes your partner, your family, your business unique? What do you want to feel? What do you want to celebrate? The more you share, the more I can create!

  • Do you offer videography?

I focus solely on providing still photography. As a lover of cinema, I highly recommend using a dedicated videographer who compliments my approach.

Our recommendations are Bonnielass Films, Wildwood Weddings and Joyride Weddings.

  • Can we see a full gallery?

    Sure - just ask!

  • Can you tell us about your art albums?

We have a dedicated designer who creates your art album. Once you receive your gallery, you can let us know which images to include and we’ll make sure you love the layout. Albums can be printed for any session. Just remember, these are premium professionally designed and printed albums - designed in-house and printed in Australia using only the best inks and paper. Your story and our work are best showcased in print.

  • Can we meet?

I am offering Zoom meetings if required. A true connection to my work is a very important first step but we need to click as people too! If you would like to catch up, just ask!

  • What do you love about black and white edits?

    Quietness. The moment becomes timeless.

I often shoot black and white in-camera, it takes away all the noise and keeps the connection strong. I will always deliver the colour version right alongside it though.

  • Who and what inspires you?

I find inspiration in lots of places. I love art and books (and poetry). I love cinema and storytelling of all kinds. Traveling seaside or in the mountains, unexpected day trips, and good food. I am inspired by the people I meet, the stories I get to tell, and the ever-changing landscape I get to work in.
